This past weekend we flew into Toronto to celebrate a family member’s birthday. Here is a 4 spots we visited in no particular order.
1. Where to Stay in Toronto for a Weekend Getaway
For this trip, we stayed at Delta Hotel by Marriott Toronto. The location is amazing and literally minutes away from downtown attractions such as the CN Tower, Scotiabank Arena, and Ripley’s Aquarium. We made our reservations through bookings.com and got excellent rates. We also accrued Bonvoy loyalty points during our stay even though we didn’t book our hotel through the Bonvoy app. Our room was clean and spacious with beautiful downtown views. You can also ask for an extra sleeper.
2. Perfect spot to sit and have a coffee or tea.
Aroma Espresso Bar: Stop here for fast service. We chose this spot to while away time before brunch. My son ordered a hot chocolate with pink frosting to mark Valentine’s Day.
3. Great Restaurant for a Weekend Brunch
For brunch, the lovely Evviva Restaraunt, right next to the CN Tower is worth a visit. I was impressed with this restaurant’s stunning design and their American-Canadian cuisine. The restaurant is vegetarian-friendly with lots of vegan options. They also take reservations which a great way to skip the long waiting line.
4. Soco Kitchen + Bar
If you stay at Delta Hotel by Marriott , I recommend dining at Delta Hotel’s signature restaurant, Soco Kitchen + Bar. The restaurant offers simple, fresh, and delicious meals for the whole family. Oh, skip the SOCO buffet which is a whopping $33 per person! It is not worth the money. I recommend ordering something from the regular menu instead. We had brunch here on our last day and enjoyed it.
